Jill has throughout her life always enjoyed sketching painting and creative activities when the opportunity has presented itself. She has used a wide variety of media and focused on many subject areas. Her creative skills have been useful during her career in teaching and lecturing. Also it has been personally enjoyable, challenging, and sometimes a therapeutic activity.

Her prolific output has covered her travels in recent years and she has produced booklets of poetry and her artwork with descriptive text. She has had many one women exhibitions and belonged to Art Groups. Mixing with other artists and visiting a variety of public exhibitions has encouraged her artistic endeavours further.

Her work has been sold and displayed in many places in the United Kingdom as well as abroad. Jill sometimes takes commissions - often from photographs. She plans an exhibition in Spring 2009 in her home town in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire based on her visit from coast to coast in America. She has produced descriptive booklets on many of her trips including America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, China, Caribbean, Baltic Cities, Mediterranean, Italy, France (including a trip to Monet's Garden) as well as based on visits around the United Kingdom.

She has written and illustrated some childrens stories and "Story Cake" offers a variety of short stories combined in one edition. More recent short stories by Jill include "Lost and Found Again" and "Snowy". She is interested in discussing publication of these stories with interested Publishers so the stories can reach a wider audience. Her art work , with supportive text, has been published in a variety of local, art and gardening magazines over the years.
